                    This is my second year taking this class, i took this class sophomore year which was two years prior to AS. I decided to take this class not only to continue the learning from AS but to become experienced as much as possible within the film industry for college, as film may be a major of mine that i'd love to take. There are plenty of ideas that i am thinking in taking this road for this 5 minute film, a personal favorite genre of mine is gothic/horror, the main inspiration to my upcoming final film. Last year was such a fun class, never felt as if the class put on much weight, sure it had it's moments however it was about the connection with people and the final products you'd make which made it so much fun. Working in groups was a key highlight of the class, due to this pandemic where in it makes for working alone much harder. Even though last year i took the main route, the leader you should say with all the storyboarding, writing, directing, and editing the fun for being in groups lacks in this upcoming class. I had a partner initially but plans seemed to fall out once this pandemic occurred rapidly, so further on i shall be working alone nothing to hard as i must learn to start these few projects in a film career alone. The excitement for me is in the multiple projects which come with the production of the 5 minute film; the website, post card, even the essays which are also formed from different topics. Some trick and tips do come in handy from my last AS level class with all the camera angles, those angles are needed even in A level which makes sense but also is good to always refresh our own memory. This class was all about the film and media but also for the own Aice credit it's self, it's good to know you get six college credits out of this class it makes for the rush to perfection that much more challenging.  Story boarding is my personal favorite part to AS and A level media. The creativity flowing through my brain is what brings the rush, the first ever assignment created was this project on making a type of phrase into an object. My theme was abuse some what of a dark turn similarly to what i'd be choosing for the final project a dark/horror themed film. The benefits to having the ability to work with any student from any class is a great idea. Even though i stated about working alone i never thought to myself that maybe i can share ideas and come across a few decent ones at that to. The change to school which may occur sooner than later may put a bump into things for the most part. Many students are closer together, the equipment may not be viable, it's just something not forward to looking to. At the most part i am excited to start my journey in the A level media class. By this week i'll be brainstorming ideas and maybe just maybe even have a chance at obtaining a prize or entry into a film festival one of my dreams as a film studying student. Overall this will be a great experience, with online learning to make it a different type of studying environment i can personally not wait to create the best film my young senior self can make.

Genre choice of film

          My main genre was horror which is what i wanted my film to be based behind. I always loved horror as a child due to the thrills and chills you get while watching those types of movies, which is something i thought i can capture in a short film. Horror has many aspects to it, including music, sound effects, lighting, and jump- scares. All these aspects are key, the sound effects are what made me truly interested in it behind the fact that many sounds are created by random objects by a mic, for say a loud bang/ thunder is created by a loud hit to a mental trashcan, or bones crunching can be a large amount raw pasta broken at the right time. It just makes it a lot more fun to create your own sounds with objects you could find at home. My film itself is a film based on a character who wakes up alone with a task to find an object before time runs out. Props revise

           Today's blog will be about my steps to regather certain props for my film. Now this film is still in works from given spectator comments as well as my own personal opinion, so changing the props was necessary in the final film. The certain mistakes which played through the first take of the film came as not getting the correct clocks for the hallway scene, using the wrong version of blood, and getting a new mask/costume and painting. Now some of these weren't mistakes, however it was and will be improvements with the final week I have to work on this project. Getting straight into it I came across parts in my film where I knew it could have been better, both in filming and features. The hallway scene came to a surprise for me as I thought my work was perfect, but as I took a look back the clocks just weren't doing it. Editing process on Laptop Pt 1

                The of editing of my end scenes as well as my pictures for my characters was being done on my phone. Now comes my first step/process of editing on my computer using editing apps. For these editing softwares, I decided to use two which were free and able to be accessed on my laptop. These two editing apps are called, "Imovie", and "FilmoraGo", however Imovie is the main one I used. I decided to go with these two since they were free and both were apple product editing softwares. In the future I may come across some type of software which works better which may be stated in my up coming blogs about my editing process. For now these work, they are simple and take clips and do as necessary by cutting them and inserting transitions from scene to scene.
